The Casuals have decided to return to Serious Cricket as playing kit supplier for 2025. Visit the serious cricket shop . We still partner VX3 - which has decent non- playing kit such as hoodies, training tracky bottoms - visit the VX3 shop . Both suppliers display the Cazh logo and sponsor BDS Paints


Casuals AGM 2024

1. Review of minutes of 2023 AGM – agreed.

2. Captains Report - J. Hodkinson.

See appendix 1.

3. Secretary Report (D. Lewis):
- Willow Lge started without pitch availability (April)
- New team - Ferrets
- No end of season updates
- Forfeits - Dan to propose points deductions for forfeits
- League shared as 0.01 points difference - CMA / Glenwood

We had several new players who have joined us this year:
Fred Grassum, Liam Forster, Joel Lewis, Kevyn Jones, Alun Evans, Ed Stagg, Josh Graham, Kian Jones. Plus other cameos and Sanay who previously played a game in 2023.

4. Webmaster Report / Willow League Report (D. Lewis):

- Website rating when searching for ‘Cricket clubs Cardiff’ is the top 5 in Google and Bing. Submitting details to the search engine each month is paying off
- As in previous years this has been the main source of new players.
- Match reports slow - as in previous years
- Pen pics - share link and update questions
- Glossary - needs updating
- Play Cricket link added to website
- Stat porn on the website for 2024
- Willow - time consuming as ever
- WhatsApp group has still been a frequent and most used form of communication, though the Committee have pointed players back towards the forum more this year - helping with admin - availability etc
- Website future - Play Cricket (£) / website and PC (££) / totally new site (£££)

5. Treasurers Report (G. Day):

Cost neutral after previous year cost changes

- Membership remains at £25. Bucket hat for those paying on time.
- Glammy confirmed Nets – 2x lanes Tues Feb 18 th @ 8pm

6. Fixture Secretary and Stats Report: J. Hodkinson

- Played 28. 7 Wins.18 Losses.14 Cancelled. 3 abandoned.
- 2025 fixtures already in a good place.
- Tour pencilled in for 5th,6th, 7th September in Birmingham area. Hotels booked.
- The committee thanks Mark for his work as Fixture Secretary.

9. Subscription and Charges
No change: £25 membership. £4 match fees. Nets £3. Indoor league £3.

10. Champagne Moment

Awarded to Pat.
- Pat destroying the stumps and injuring both himself and the keeper when trying not to be stumped at Dinas…and failing!
Runners up: Rob O / Ed Stagg:
Rob O first ever 100 in the heat at Sudbrook, taking 39.1 overs
- Tour - Ed Stagg dancing in the club (and Liam’s face watching him)

11. Tudor Thomas Tour Trophy
To be selected from Tour captains – Pat and Liam F / Jim

Awarded to: Robbie - carrying / dropping a tray of tequila shots then re-pouring via the tray into shot glasses

12. AOB

- Play Cricket stats – JH uploading stats. Thanks from Chairmen. Report writers seemed to prefer this method.
- Report writing still slow. Please be quicker. Much easier when you can remember the game.
- Tour arrangements & dates – Birmingham city centre hotel has been booked (5-7th September 2025) – just need to book fixtures
- Safeguarding policy
- Buy bats and equipment with grant money. Kit review during indoor league.
- Foxy finale. June 15th. Inter club game on Father’s Day as no fixture.

Due to increased numbers of 'youth' players showing an interest in becoming a 'Casual' - the committee have asked for advice from the WCA - the result of which is that under 18s are not able to play for the Casuals due to the responsibility of duty of care.[youth policy]
